NEW MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new monoclonal antibody specifically having an affinity for one or more of specific SSI family proteins, capable of analyzing the various properties of SSI-1 protein, and useful for the researches and developments of medicines, diagnostic medicines, etc. SOLUTION: This monoclonal antibody specifically has an affinity for one or more of proteins among SSI family proteins having the following properties (i) to (iii): (i) the expression of the monoclonal antibody is derived from STAT; (ii) the monoclonal antibody inhibits the signal of the STAT; and (iii) the monoclonal antibody has a src homology (SH2) region. The monoclonal antibody recognizes an epitope existing in the 43-69 amino acid region of the SSI-1 protein and further recognizes an epitope existing in an amino acid sequence of the formula. The monoclonal antibody is produced from a hybridoma having an accession number of FERM P-16445.
