PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact discharge lamp light source device capable of maintaining radiated luminous energy to some extense. SOLUTION: In a discharge lamp light source device provided with a short arc discharge lamp 10 and a concave reflection mirror 20, a cylindrical support member 30 covering one seal part 12b of a discharge lamp 10 is connected to a neck part 21 of the concave reflection mirror 20, and an external lead 13b connected to one seal part of the discharge lamp 10 is taken from a side surface of the cylindrical support member 30. In addition, the discharge lamp 10 is a metal halide lamp sealed with mercury and metal halide as light emitting substances. |
