PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction in focusing by using a high-band component in the video signal of a subject image illuminated with auxiliary emitted light as a focus evaluated value, performing focusing by moving an optical system in an optical axis direction so that the evaluated value may be maximum, and controlling the on/off of the auxiliary emitted light based on focusing operation. SOLUTION: After a camera AF microcomputer 118 turns on an auxiliary light emitting part 121 so as to irradiate a subject, a focus lens motor 114 is driven to finely drive a focus lens 105, and whether or not a focusing state is attained now is discriminated according to a focus evaluated value signal from an AF evaluated value processing circuit 116. When the focusing state is attained, the microcomputer 118 turns off the auxiliary light emitting part 121 of a stroboscope 119 after stopping the lens 105 by stopping driving the motor 114 by a focus lens driver 115. Then, the main light emitting part 120 of the stroboscope 119 is turned on and the video signal being output from a camera signal processing 108 is recorded on a magnetic tape by a recorder 109. |
