DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM, BLOCK ERASURE TYPE STORAGE MEDIUM AND PROGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a batch erasure type storage device which fast performs the processing of data deletion and writing and effectively utilizes a storage capacity. SOLUTION: Flash memory (block erasure type storage medium) consists of plural blocks and can eliminate data in a block unit. Data writing and reading can be performed in a unit such as a page which is smaller than it. A block 1 of the flash memory is used as a boot area. The boot area stores information about a cluster that is a unit to store data. The flash memory is formatted so that blocks 2 to 1024 are corresponded to clusters 1 to 1023 respectively with the information. The clusters 1 to 1023 are respectively used as a data area, and a FAT(file allocation table) and a directory are stored in a part of it.
