The end switch device provides automatic cut-out of the electric drive motor for the roller shutter when the upper limit position is reached, via a pair of end switches respectively operated upon reaching given torque and displacement thresholds. The torque threshold (D) is below the max. torque (M) exhibited during the operation of the roller shutter and the displacement threshold (W) is positioned at a point on the torque/displacement curve (17) below the switching torque threshold.
