Machine tool cooling system

The cooling system for a machine tool flushes the tool mounting (120) with coolant from the coolant supply (122,123). The inner cooling (121) is switched on while the tool holder (118) is moved into the working position, to flush coolant through the inner channel (126) of the tool holder or mounting. The flushing system has jets which are generally aligned at a tangent to the tool holder. It may give a parallel flushing action to the ring surfaces of the tool holder.
