PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a small chrominance error while keeping a fine spatial texture by measuring new color display for an initial color value as the function of an adjustment value and the initial color value. SOLUTION: A total luminance error is roughly calculated as the total of errors from components by route-specifying the errors of the components to an adder 3. A judgement processor 4 for converting information relating to the luminance error and a step dimension to the color display of a halftone level generates increases to be put in tables DC, DM and DJ and stipulates an executable increase relating to the final color display value of a coloring agent. The increases are connected with the original color display in the adders 5A-5C. Then, a new chrominance adjustment value is totaled with original chrominance values C, M and J from system input 2A-2C and final values C', M' and J' are generated and provided to a document reproduction system by output 6A-6C. |
