DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the combustion regeneration of a filter at an optimum power consumption by grasping a state of particulates adhered to a filter in advance and to prevent melt down of two filter through automatic suspension of the combustion regeneration when an accumulated amount is too high to effect regeneration. SOLUTION: This purifying device is provided with pressure sensors 1a and 1b arranged at least at one of the regions between an air blower 7 to feed a constant flow rate of regenerating air and an electric heater 4 or between the electric heater 4 and a filter 3. Based on a value of at least one spot of the pressure sensors 1a and 1b, a collected amount of particulates adhered to the filter 3 is estimated. According to the estimated value, the time for continuity to the electric heater 4 and a blowing time of an air blower 7 are controlled. When particulates are judged excessively adhered to the interior of the filter 3, regeneration is suspended and cracking and melt down of the filter 3 due to abnormal combustion are prevented from occurring.
