An fibrous element (20) encouraging the growth of plants is located at least in a partial region of an outer side of the cage (10) between a box (12) and it's filling material (16). The plant material is in the form of seeds. The element consists of coconut fibres, hygroscopic mineral wool, artificial fibres or matting. The element is provided with a mat (24) on its upper surfaces facing the outer side of the cage, in which the material is introduced. Both the element and the mat are located in a net made of fibrous material.
