PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a coating material quantity without any manual work by irradiating the surface color part of a recording paper with a light emitting means and controlling the quantity of light emitted from the light emitting means, so as to make a detecting signal from a light receiving means a prescribed value. SOLUTION: A CPU 1 is operated on the basis of a program stored in a ROM 5, to irradiate a residual coating material detecting mark recorded outside a recording region on the recording paper by a recording means, with the light emitting means, in each recording paper, so that it is judged whether the residual coating material is the prescribed value or below, based on the detecting signal from the light receiving means. Further, the CPU 1 is operated on the basis of the program stored in the ROM 5, to irradiate the surface color part of the recording paper by the light emitting means, so that the quantity of the light emitted from the light emitting means is controlled to make the detecting signal from the light receiving means the prescribed value. |
