摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a building material excellent in workability and having water absorptivity and self-extinguishing property by press-molding a powdery slaked line and a powdery calcium carbonate in almost vacuum to form into a lumpy state. SOLUTION: This building material is obtained by press-molding the powdery slaked lime and the powdery calcium carbonation almost vacuum to form into the lumpy state and absorbing carbon dioxide there into by leaving naturally standing or by a carbonization device to make stoney. The building material has the following features. (1) Air is hardly remained in the lumpy building material because of the press-molding under vacuum and the strength of the building material is excellently held. (2) The building material is easily cut before being petrified and has excellent workability. (3) Discoloration does not occur even in the case of being colored since a subsequent firing process is needless. (4) The building material after being made stony has high hardness and excellent water absorptivity. (5) The building material is free from the generation of a toxic gas in fire and has self-extinguishing property of releasing carbon dioxide adsorbed inside at >=800 deg.C.
