PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful as a synthetic intermediate of 1-(2,3,6-trideoxy-β-D-erythro-hexopyranosyl) cytosine as a constituting component of a nucleic acid-based antibiotic material exhibiting an antibacterial activity and represented by amicetin, and to provide a method for producing the same and a method for stereoselectively producing 2',3'-dideoxyheopyranosyl-β- nucleoside derivative by using the same. SOLUTION: This 2',3'-dideoxyhexopyranosyl-β-nucleoside derivative is obtained by performing a intramolecular glycosylation reaction of 6-O-(2- pyrimydyl)-2,3-dideoxy-1-thiohexopyranoside derivative by reacting an activating agent in an extremely high selectivity to theβ-compound in a good efficiency.
