PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the preventing ability against production of primary odor and secondary odor as well as to regenerate an adsorbent at lower regenerating temp. by further depositing an active manganese oxide on the surface of a deodorant. SOLUTION: This improved deodorant is produced by further dipping a deodorant in a soln. containing manganese nitrate, drawing up from the soln., and blowing out an excess soln. with air so as to uniformly impregnate manganese nitrate. Then the deodorant with deposition of manganese nitrate is heated to dry and remove the water content and crystal water, then decomposed and burned to convert the manganese nitrate to active manganese oxide. The improved deodorant prepared by depositing active manganese oxide on the whole surface of the deodorant hardly produces odor in the primary stage even when it adsorbs odorous gas or harmful gas. Moreover, the deodorant prevents production or emission of a secondary odorous source material with time. Thus even when the deodorant is used for a long time, production of uncomfortable odor can be prevented. |
