PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a terpolymer that comprises a specific unsaturated acid reaction product, a specific macromolecular olefin and a di- of polyunsaturated compound and is useful as a lubricant additive or a dispersion in fuel. SOLUTION: This terpolymer comprises (A) an unsaturated reaction product containing at least one kind of an unsaturated 4-10C carboxylic acid, its anhydride or its acid derivative, (B) a polybutene macromolecular olefin that is derived from the oligomerization or polymerization of at least one kind of 2-10C α-olefinic monomer, where at least 50% of the macromolecular olefin bears terminal vinylidene unsaturated group, and (C) di- or polyunsaturated compound, where the terpolymer has a number-average molecular weight of 300-6,000. |
