Directional indicator and/or brake warning for bicycle or motorcycle

The directional indicator has a current source coupled to at least one display unit (10) with a number of red lamps (1), selectively activated via a direction indicator switch and/or a brake switch to provide a visual direction indication, a braking indication, or a hazard warning. The current provided by the current source is modulated to provide a rectangular voltage with a given frequency of between 1 and 10 Hz. Pref. the display unit has a number of red lamps spaced around a warning triangle enclosing a pair of direction indication arrows and a ''stop'' indication.
