Single-stage process for preparing polyisobutene-carboxylic acids.

摘要

The prodn. of polyisobutylene-carboxylic acids (I) with a mean mol. wt. (Mn) of 300-20,000 and a COOH gp. content of 0.5-5 moles per mole polymer comprises reacting high-mol. wt. isobutylene-diene copolymers (II), contg. 0.3-15 mole % diene units and opt. crosslinked or branched with diolefin by known methods, with 0.3-50 mole % ozone at -100 to +70 deg. C. in the presence of a solvent for (I). Also claimed are crosslinked or branched polymers (I) obtd. by this process.
