In a method for producing an upper jaw dental prosthesis adapted to the model of the upper jaw of a specific patient comprising at least one dental prosthetic element, the latter is positioned in such a way that its occlusal surface is placed in a plane (O) defined by a distance of 19 mm from a first anterior reference point (B1) and a distance of 5 mm from a second and a third posterior reference point (B2, B3) respectively, wherein the first reference point (B1) is the intersecting point of the line with the meridional plane defined by the working limit between the mobile and the immobile mucous membrane in the folding area to the right and to the left of the labial frenum and wherein the second and third reference points (B2, B3) correspond to the left and right adhering part of the hamulus pterygoideus in the posterior part of the tuber maxillae. To carry out said method, the upper jaw model is chucked advantageously in a chucking device, in which the above-mentioned dimensional relation of the three reference points with respect to the occlusal plane is integrated.
