<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform automatic rearrangement adaptively to a corresponding level without putting names of shape data one over another when a multi-level map is generated by deleting a name and a name display coordinate point of a numerical map of high level on the basis of priority for a name included in a numerical map of low level. SOLUTION: When the numerical map of high level is generated by processing the numerical map of low level, a reference main name of comparison and a subname to be compared are determined in order on the basis of the priority for names included in the numerical map of low level. Then boxes based upon the positions and area where the main name and subname are displayed on the numerical map of high level is generated. It is judged whether or not part or the whole of the subname box overlap with the main name box and when there is an overlapping part, the corresponding name and name display coordinate point are deleted. Consequently, when a large-scale numerical map is generated, accurate standards of data processing for roads and geographical structures with names are obtained to enable automation.</p> |
