Collection vehicle for waste recycling

The collection vehicle has a jointed arm hoist with a grab at the end to lift large items left at the road side and drop them into one of a number of open topped containers (8-13) for sorted waste. The vehicle also has a screw driven (20) compactor (19) to take certain materials for recycling. The hoist incorporates a load monitor (23) to check the weight of each item to prevent overloading the hoist and to check the weight of the items for recycling eg. for calculating payments for scrap material brought in. The separate containers can be removed from the vehicle, complete with contents, at the recycling centre.
