Films made by melt blending a clear or near-clear thermoplastic and certain well known non-toxic fungicides can be made into packages which will retard fungal growth on fungi-prone foods contained therein, even on food surfaces not in direct contact with the film. The fungicides are sorbic and benzoic acids, their salts and esters, and salts and esters of propionic acid. |
