PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a surface-anisotropic polymer to the surface of which modifiability with different proteins and anisotropy of hydrophilicity, hydrophobicity, positive charges, negative charges, magnetism, etc., can be imparted by making the performances of the surface of a polymer particle anisotropic by a specified method. SOLUTION: This invention provides polymer particles having anisotropic surfaces and having a particle diameter of 0.01-1,000μm. This particle can be obtained by treating one side of a polymer particle with a chemical and treating the other surface with another chemical. The polymer particle used is obtained by for example subjecting a monomer component such as methacrylic acid, a p-nitrophenylacrylic acid ester or N,N-methylenebisacrylamide to precipitation polymerization in the presence of a radical initiator being azobisisobutyronitrile in a solvent being ethyl alcohol. An example of the method for imparting anisotropy consists of modifying part of the surface of a particle at a solid-liquid interface, a gas-liquid interface or a liquid-liquid interface. |
