PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a simple process and a superior productivity and to form a rugged shape with satisfactory quality by forming a rugged layer for varying the thickness of a liq. crystal layer by an ink jetting system between the surface of at least one of substrate and a transparent electrode. SOLUTION: A transparent resin layer as an ink receiving layer 10 is formed on the surface of a glass substrate 1a with a patternwise formed light shielding layer 2, and ink receiving parts 10a and parts 10b not receiving ink and preventing color mixing are formed at desired positions on the ink receiving layer 10. Colored swelling liqs. as colored ink are stuck to the ink receiving parts 10a by means of an ink jetting head 20 fitted to an ink jetting device. At the same time, the parts 10a are swollen. Drying and post-baking are then carried out to form a color filter layer 3 with a colored rugged pattern 3a. |
