PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean sufficiently a wiper blade by preventing a wiper blade from being stained by a method wherein a wiper blade for wiping a blade of an ink discharge opening, a wiper blade-cleaning component which cleans that in contact therewith, and a means which increases and decreases a contact area of the both are provided. SOLUTION: A recovery unit 30 is equipped with a wiper blade 32 which wipes off ink, paper dust, etc., stuck to an ink discharge opening 24a and its periphery, and a wiper blade holding component 34, and a knocking part 34a as an increase and decrease means is formed at a tip part of the holding component 34. It constitutes a guide to knock against a wiper guide 23 when the holding component 34 moves in a carriage 22 direction by ON operation of a solenoid 36. When the holding component 34 is brought close to the carriage 22 to allow the knocking part 34a to knock against guide parts 23a-c, the blade 32 is respectively distorted, and the ink, paper dust, etc., stuck to the ink discharge opening and its periphery are sufficiently wiped off with a felt 38 fixed to the carriage 22 by transfer of the carriage 22. |
