Operating method for power plant with boiler fired by lignite

The operating method is carried out firstly by dehydrating the raw brown coal (lignite) using heat and pressure, and then in at least one step the brown coal is reduced in size. At least part amounts of the vapours leaving from the dehydrated coal, containing solid matter, are fed to the combustion chamber of the power plant boiler (28). In addition at least one part of the water collected with the dehydration of the brown coal, with in certain cases the solid matter contained therein, is led to the combustion chamber of the boiler. The water collected during the dehydration can be treated and used as feed water for the boiler.
