PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to secure high reliability by improving the efficiency of light output. SOLUTION: A first optical signal L1 outgoing from a laser diode 25 is reflected in the most of its light quantity by a mirror surface 23a on the slope of a prism 23, and is converged by a lens 27 to be made incident on the end surface of an optical fiber 1. A second optical signal L2 outgoing from the end surface of the optical fiber 1 is converged by the lens 27, and the majority of it is transmited through a transmission surface 23b on the slope of the prism 23 to be made incident on a photodiode 22.
