<p>The system includes a single electromagnetically operated fuel-metering valve (12) connected by fuel lines (50) to the injection nozzles (52) of the individual cylinders. The moving part (14) of the valve opens and closes a single outlet (26) with a dispensing stop (58) of smaller diameter. The valve has a conventional pressure regulator (34), a fuel inlet (36) and an overflow (46) returning surplus fuel to the tank. Each nozzle has a uniformly calibrated stop ensuring that the quantity of fuel dispensed from the first stop is divided uniformly among all nozzles.</p>
