A process for painting elements (16) made of dielectric or low conducting material which utilizes a paint projection means (13) comprising a chamber connected, firstly, with a paint outlet and, secondly, a paint reservoir (46); the method comprises the steps of mechanically and electrically connecting at least one electrode (17) to the element (16), creating an electrostatic field between the electrode (17) and the paint projection means, projecting the paint from the reservoir through the chamber towards the outlet, electrically charging this paint and projecting the paint towards the element (16) to be painted. The electrode utilized comprises, on its external surface, at least one angular region for engaging the element to be painted, the said angular region being the site of the so-called peak electrostatic effect. |
