The invention discloses a static switch (RS) with semi-conductors (Th1, Th2) to be inserted in alternating current electric circuits (CE) and comprising condition detecting means (D1, D2, T1, T2) for detecting the switch state in operation and a supplementary state corresponding to a destroyed switch, a dead electric circuit (CE), the switch disconnected from the electric circuit (CE), these means being connected to the switch terminals. This invention is useful in opening and closing alternating current electric circuits.
