<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the coding efficiency by painting part of areas or a background area in image data after dither processing in the same color so as to reduce an area of dither data and a data amount after coding. SOLUTION: Data of a 1st frame are stored in a preceding frame data storage device 21 and data of a 2nd frame are prepared. Then an inter-frame difference processing unit 22 exclusively ORs the data of the 1st frame stored in the preceding frame data storage device 21 and data of the 2nd frame and the resulting data are used for difference data. After exclusive OR is taken to all picture elements, the data of the 2nd frame are stored in the preceding frame data storage device 21 and data of a succeeding frame are prepared. Then he difference processing is conducted till all the received data are processed. Then data fed from a difference processing unit 3 are given to a compression processing unit 14, in which the data are compressed. Then input moving image data are coded.</p> |
