PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow air bubbles to upwardly escape toward an ink storage tank, to prevent the ink exhaustion caused by the thermal expansion of air bubbles and to extend the life of a printing cartridge by providing a contoured wall along the manifold between an ink storage tank and an ink emitting chamber. SOLUTION: Ink containing dissolved air passes through the filter 92 provided along an ink passage from the ink storage tank of a printing cartridge before it is injected from nozzles to flow in a manifold 52 and goes round the edge part 86 of a substrate 28 to flow is an evaporation chamber along the ink passage 88. In this case, the upper manifol wall of the manifold 52 is made deep to increase the angle of the lower manifold wall 58. By this constitution, air bubbles generated from dissolved air are allowed to drift upwardly to be allowed to flow in a standby pipe 51 and separated from the nozzles and the ink passage 88. The connection part 59 of the lower manifold wall 57 and the inner wall 60 of the standby pipe 51 is rounded and air bubbles are made easy to enter the standby pipe 52. |
