PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the consumption of a regenerating agent used for the regeneration of an ion exchange resin tower. SOLUTION: When regenerating an ion exchange resin tower 4 by supplying a regenerating agent to the ion exchange resin tower 4, the pH value of a waste regeneration liquid flowing out of the outlet 8 of the tower 4 is measured using a pH gauge 12, and if the pH value of the waste regeneration liquid is equal to that of the regenerating agent, the supply of the regenerating agent 14 is stopped and at the same time, a squeeze-out water 18 is supplied into the tower 4 so that the waste regeneration liquid is recovered from the tower 4 into a recovery tank 22. The recovered waste regeneration liquid can be recycled as the regenerating agent at the time of next regeneration cycle. |
