PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming color filters for a color filter liquid crystal display device capable of assuring the tight adhesion property of protective films formed on the color filters after dyeing without inducing thermal fusion of the ink layers of a thermal transfer film on dye fixing layers. SOLUTION: This method for forming the color filters for the color liquid crystal display device comprises formation of the required color filter patterns FIL(R), FIL(G), FIL(B) by dyeing the dye fixed layer 1 formed on one transparent substrate constituting the color liquid crystal display device with sublimatable dyes. The thermal transfer film 2 formed with a release layer 2d by covering the sublimatable dyes deposited on a base film is placed on the dye fixed layer 1 and a thermal head 4 which executes the heating corresponding to the required color filter patterns is pressed onto the thermal transfer film 2 from behind the film, by which the sublimatable dyes are sublimated to the dye fixed layer 1. |
