The seat adjuster consists of first (3) and second (5) profiles which are able to slide relative to one another in a lengthwise direction and a locking mechanism (10) with teeth which pass through holes in the inner profile and engage with slots (57) in the outer one. The locking mechanism is attached to the first profile (3), and is elastically deformable in an intermediate zone (12). The toothed component of the locking mechanism is made in one piece from an elastic material such as spring steel, and it has two lugs (12) which extend sideways from either end and are connected to the first sliding profile (3), with the movement of the lock effected by twisting the lugs. The locking mechanism is released with the aid of an adjuster bar (7) with a slot in its end to receive a tongue projecting from the upper part of the toothed component. In addition, the two profiles (3, 5) have balls between them to make for smoother sliding. |
