Oxidation catalysts comprise 5-20%CuO and 5-20%MgO and p Al2O3. Additionally the catalyst may contain Pd. To prove its efficacy in exhaust gas oxidation the catalyst is artificially sprayed with Pb to simulate its condition in an I.C. engine exhaust system.
