PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition by adding ethylenebis(pentabromobenzene), etc., to an ethylenic copolymer as a base polymer, high in flame retardance and excellent in heat resistance, useful for vehicles, etc. SOLUTION: This electrical insulating composition is obtained by blending (A) 100 pts.wt. of an ethylenic copolymer with (B) 5-60 pts.wt. of ethylenebis(pentabromobenzene), (C) 0.1-20 pts.wt. of a phenolic antioxidant and (D) 0.1-20 pts.wt. of a sulfur-based antioxidant. The composition is preferably mixed with (E) 0.1-20 pts.wt. of any of a heavy metal deactivator preferably isophthalic acid bis(2-phenoxypropionylhydrazine) and 3-(N-salicyloyl)amino-1,2,4-triazole and N,N'-bis[3-(3,5-di-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)propionyl]hydrazine or its mixture and (F) 0.1-20 pts.wt. of a hydrotalcite Mg4.5 Al2 (OH)13 CO3 .3.5H2 O], etc. |
