PURPOSE: To provide a twisted nematic type liquid crystal display device capable of embodying the symmetricalness of the visual field angles of respective pixels with a center line without degrading transmittance. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device has the many rectangular pixels 2 of which the respective sides have an angle of approximately 45 deg. with the respective sides of a display screen having a rectangular shape and which are arranged in a matrix form parallel and perpendicularly with and to the respective sides of the display screen, a pair of oriented layers arranged with orientation directions R1, R2 in the directions of the sides intersecting orthogonally with each other of the many pixels 2 and signal lines 3', 4' in the horizontal direction and perpendicular direction arranged in proximity in parallel with the respective sides of the many pixels of the rectangular shape. |
