A process is disclosed for mounting a spring hinge subassembly having a hinge element (11) and a spring element (7). The hinge element (11) is stamped and/or formed from a preferably strip-shaped material (481) and the spring element (7) is set on the hinge element (11) while the hinge element (11) is still joined to the strip-shaped material.
