The aim of the invention is to provide a method of producing mouldings in which the properties of the mouldings can be influenced, as required, by the selection of the raw materials (1, 2) or raw-material compositions used as well as by matching the steps in the method to each other and to the raw materials (1, 2) so that the articles can be produced with the required technological properties, using little energy and at low cost. This is achieved by mixing the ground raw materials (1, 2) incorporating at least one binder (4), compressing the composition in moulds (5) and curing the mouldings thus formed.
