PURPOSE: To easily identify both sides of an optical disk with the presence of a label by providing a first read-in area on a first prescribed area of both recording surfaces and providing a second read-in area on a second prescribed area. CONSTITUTION: The optical disk is constituted so that the label is stuck on a label area of its one side surface. Then, both sides are easily judged by the presence of the label or visible information displayed on the label. In such a case, since recording surface information showing whether or not the second read-in area 5 exists on the same recording surfaces are recorded on respective first read-in areas 3a, 3b, a reproducing device reads the first read-in areas 3a, 3b and the second read-in area 5 in conformity with a simple category regardless of both sides of the recording surface of the optical disk to reproduce a program correctly. |
