PURPOSE: To provide a facsimile equipment in which a black level image at a peripheral part caused when a book original is read is trimmed. CONSTITUTION: A trimming amount to eliminate a black image at the peripheral part caused when a book original is read is set by mechanical covers 401, 402 or scales 501, 502 and the image within the set range is replaced into a white level image. The position of the scales may be measured mechanically by using a gear 506 and an encoder or the like or an image read means for reading an original may read the position. Or whether or not all full black level lines or lines with a prescribed ratio or over of black level image are in existence at the surrounding part of a read image is judged and when they are in existence, the lines may be replaced with full white lines. Or a black image of a prescribed length or over at the start or end in the main scanning direction may be replaced with a white image. |
