PURPOSE: To obtain lightweight castable refractories ensuring heat resistance comparable to that of refractories using hydraulic alumina as a binder and excellent in work efficiency. CONSTITUTION: Aluminous aggregate, refractory stock and 5-50wt.% calcined gypsum as a binder are incorporated. A reaction of the aluminous aggregate with the calcined gypsum does not take place and the soft calcined gypsum having a Mohs hardness of 2 is allowed to function as a lubricant. |
