A machine for manufacturing the rim of a spectacle frame from a profiled metal wire comprises: - a numerically-controlled 300 shaping device 400 having three degrees of movement, a rolling movement along a vertical axis Z, a contouring (meniscussing) movement along a horizontal transverse axis Y and a rotational movement about the axis Z; - electronic and computing means 200 making it possible, from the geometry in space of the pre-established frame rim and from the mechanical properties of the profiled metal wire used, to establish the sequence of the numerical-control instructions to be applied; - electronic and computing means 100 making it possible, from a base shape F defined in a plane, to establish the geometrical locations in space of the general shape of the rim, defined by the cylindrical or conical projection of the base shape onto a convex closed envelope. <IMAGE>
