<p>PURPOSE: To make a master unit transmit a continuation (or stoppage) message onto a communication line without making it collide with a response message continuously transmitted from a slave unit on the communication line. CONSTITUTION: When the time T1 elapses after the transmission completion of a request message, a fault diagnostic tester 5 (master) performs setting so as to transmit the continuation message when an idle counter exceeds P3' and an engine controller 1 (slave) performs setting so as to transmit the next response message when the idle counter exceeds P2' (>P3'). Thus, both messages do not collide with each other on the communication line and the continuation message is transmitted from the fault diagnostic tester 5 before the controller 1 transmits the next response message.</p> |
