PURPOSE: To provide a phosphor composition and a panel having high display luminance and capable of forming a phosphor layer having a large surface area by applying a developer from the surface side of a developing mask, and developing the phosphor layer. CONSTITUTION: A phosphor composition 30 is filled in recesses 13 partitioned by bulkheads 12 formed on the surface of a substrate 11 to form a phosphor layer 20. A radiation-sensitive resist film 21 is formed on the surface of the phosphor layer 20, and exposure and development are applied via a photo-mask 23. Part of the surface of the phosphor layer 20 is exposed to form a developing mask 26, the phosphor layer 20 is developed from the surface side of the mask 26, and the thin layer of the phosphor composition 30 is left on the surface of the substrate 11 and the side faces of the bulkheads 12. The thin layer of the remaining phosphor composition 30 is heated and hardened. The phosphor composition 30 preferably contains a phosphor material, a thermosetting binder made of an alkali-soluble resin, and a vehicle. |
