PURPOSE: To provide an image-analyzing apparatus which can properly and automatically recognize a peak point of a profile regardless of whether the amount of noises included in an image is large or small. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus has a display image-generating part 82 which processes image data by predetermined treatments, a CRT 60 for displaying images based on the image data, a figure data-generating part 84 which generates figure data related to a figure formed at a required position in the image displayed on the CRT 60, and a profile-generating part 88 which generates profile data indicating a profile related to an area of the figure. The image- analyzing apparatus can display the profile on the CRT 60. The apparatus is equipped with a peak-recognizing part 90 which generates noise level data showing the degree of noises included in the profile, smooths the profile based on the noise level data, and generates peak data indicating a peak in the profile on the basis of the smoothed profile. |
