<p>The drive of a belt tensioning device is formed by a piston/cylinder arrangement (10, 14) with a traction cable (12) which is connected on the one hand to the belt lock and on the other hand to the piston (14) which is displaceably mounted in the cylinder (10). The piston (14) has a circumferential groove (22) in which two semicircular discs (18, 20) are arranged in oppositely extending obliquely positions with respect to the axis of the piston (14) supported one on the other with the circumferential ends and are held in contact at their outer circumference with the wall of the cylinder (10). During a piston movement, the semicircular discs become aligned counter to the working stroke of the piston and clamp the latter in the cylinder. <IMAGE></p> |
