Tubeless bicycle tyre

A tubeless bicycle tyre has a tyre wall (13) which is open between the beads (8). An additional element (19, 20a, 20c, 20b) is arranged to close the tyre wall (13) between the beads (8). Pref. the usual bicycle rim (12) has holes (16) to hold the spokes so that conventional tubeless tyres require the flow from a compressor to overcome the initial leakage before the internal pressure is high enough to make a sealing strip effective. The initial seal is made by an internal high pressure tube or a material strip (19) which is attached to the tyre wall (13) by adhesives or by vulcanising.
