<p>The present invention provides a novel method of inhibition of virus replication. In particular, the present invention is directed to the use of an inhibitor of sphingolipid biosynthesis for the treatment or prevention of infection caused by enveloped viruses, including HIV. L-cycloserine is the preferred inhibitor of sphingolipid biosynthesis. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising inhibitors of sphingolipid biosynthesis, including L-cycloserines, are also provided.</p> |
