PURPOSE: To obtain a color image wherein a character image is sharp and there is no turbidity in both of a halftone image and a line image by making the polarities of polymeric dispersants respectively used in black pigment ink and ink containing pigment of other hue mutually different. CONSTITUTION: An ink jet aq. pigment ink set is obtained by combining black pigment ink and ink containing pigment of other hue each consisting of at least water, a water-soluble org. solvent and a pigment dispersion. Herein, for example, a cationic dispersant is used in the black ink and an anionic dispersant is used in the color ink to mutually differentiate the polarities of the dispersants in the respective inks. By applying color recording to plain paper by an ink jet system using this ink set, an image good in fixing properties, high in density and reduced in boundary bleeding can be obtained. |
