<p>PURPOSE: To produce a polyethylene coated metal pipe markedly excellent in anti-cathode releasability by using a low density polyethylene material to control the stretch magnification thereof to a specific value range. CONSTITUTION: In producing a polyethylene coated metal pipe 6 or 6A by successively coating the outer surface of a metal pipe with an epoxy resin adhesive 3, a modified polyethylene layer 4 and a polyethylene layer 5, as the modified polyethylene layer 4 and the polyethylene layer 5, low density polyethylene having density of 0.91-0.94g/cm<3> is applied within a stretch magnification range of 1-10. A modified polyethylene resin 4 and a polyethylene resin 5 are simultaneously applied to the metal pipe while extruded from the die 8 of a T-die type melt extrusion coating apparatus 7 so that the thicknesses of the layers 4, 5 become 0.3mm and 2.7mm to produce the polyethylene coated metal pipe 6 or 6A.</p> |
